The story behind this collection
During an embodied breathwork session, sounds came out of me that I had no control over, screams that felt like they came from the root of me. A voice from somewhere so deep inside I couldn't have stopped it if I'd tried. My body was shaking, my upper body lifting off the ground, and for the first time in my life I understood, physically, not just as an idea, what people mean by the physical body and the spiritual body. I felt the gap between them. I wasn't fully inside my own body. The two were separated, straining to come back together, and there was real resistance in that. Through all of it, one thought kept returning: I have to paint. When I got home, I painted, something I'd been suppressing for years because of a blockage. That painting became Embodiment.
